Smart Sunroof Kit Installation Guide
1. Preparation
Move the front seats forward and fold down the rear seats to create sufficient workspace.
Clean both the interior and exterior surfaces of the sunroof thoroughly, then wipe dry.
2. Installation Steps
Step 1: Power Connection
Insert the kit’s power cable into the power outlet located in the trunk.
Remove the rubber trim above the trunk, thread a fish tape (wire guide) through the interior panel, and attach the power cable to the fish tape.
Pull the fish tape to route the power cable through the panel, then remove the fish tape.
Step 2: Bracket Assembly
Remove Bracket 1# from the rear of the kit.
Insert the black Z-shaped supports into both ends of Bracket 1#.
Note: Keep the right direction of the threaded holes on Bracket 1# and Z-shaped supports.
Secure the flat plate support to Bracket 2# (front of the kit) using screws.
Note: The sloped side of the flat plate support must face toward Bracket 2#.
Step 3: Positioning the Kit
Install Bracket 1# beneath the sunroof glass, ensuring the pointed ends of the Z-shaped supports face the front of the vehicle.
Carefully maneuver the kit into the cabin through the trunk, ensuring:
Brackets face upward.
The end with Bracket 2# points toward the front of the vehicle.
Avoid scratching interior trim during placement.
Step 4: Mounting the Kit
Peel off the protective film from the bracket-side of the kit.
Lift the kit gently and insert the flat plate support on Bracket 2# into the gap beneath the sunroof glass.
Connect the cable to the kit.
Align the screw holes on the kit with those on Bracket 1#, then secure with screws. Install decorative caps over the screws.
Peel off the protective film from the underside of the kit.
Step 5: Cable Management
Tuck excess wiring under the trunk’s rubber trim for a clean finish.
3. Final Checks & Testing
Verify all connections and bracket alignments.
Power on the kit and test dimming functionality.
Restore seats to their original positions.
Note:
Use only soft tools (e.g., nylon pry tools) to avoid interior damage.
Ensure threaded holes and connectors are fully engaged before tightening screws.

No, the correct term is translucent, since light still gets through, albeit scattered in many directions. The glass would be opaque only if the light was blocked or absorbed.
How to make smart glass?
Step1. Wash and clean the glass.
Step2. Move the glass to the cleanroom for lamination.
Step3. Check the lower glass and clean possible stains.
Step4. Lay the pre-cut EVA interlayer on the lower glass.
Step5. Lay the PDLC film with busbars onto the EVA interlayer. During the process, the lower protective liner is removed. Then remove the upper protective liner. Note: Do not leave fingerprints or stains on the PDLC film.
Step6. Carefully adjust the position of the PDLC to align with the glass.
Step7. Lay out and align the upper layer of EVA interlayer.
Step8. Check and place the upper glass, carefully adjust the position of the glass to align with the lower glass.
Step9. Check the glass carefully to remove possible dirty spots and stains inside the glass.
Step10. Cut off the EVA interlayer to align with the glass.
Step11. Fix the busbars leads with high temperature tape, and wrap the glass edge with high temperature tape.
Step12. Move the glass to the next operating table.
Step13. Wrap the whole piece of glass in PET film.
Step14. Bond the PET film with silicone sealant strips to form a vacuum bag.
Step15. Set the vacuum port.
Step16. Pump the vacuum bag. Fold and firm the sides of the vacuum bag with high temperature tape.
Step17. During the pumping process, check whether the vacuum bag is leaking. After the pumping is complete, disconnect the pumping pipe.
Step18. Move the glass to the heating platform, connect the glass vacuum port to the vacuum system of the heating oven or autoclave, transfer the glass to the heating oven or autoclave, and heat the glass.
Step19. Heating. parameter settings.
Step20. After heating, remove the glass from the heating oven or autoclave. To pack and store.

When not connected to a voltage, typically the transmittance can be as low as 2%. When connected to a voltage, it can be up to 80%, but this maximum value varies from manufacturer to manufacturer.
No, the transmittance (level of transparency) of the PDLC can be varied from 0% in the OFF state up to any value you want until you reach the maximum transmittance (normally 70% or 80%). This is done by simply altering the voltage from 0 VAC up to 70VAC, which is typically the maximum recommended voltage. This can be done electrically with a variable isolating transformer, or electronically with a switched-mode smart glass dimmer.
